BOFINET Trains 50 Girls In Digital Skills

Botswana Fibre Networks (BOFINET) sponsored the recent commemorations of "Girls In ICT" held under the theme "Digital Skills for Life".

The commemorations  were held in the South-East District, covering schools in the villages of Ramotswa, Otse, Taung  and Mogobane, with BOFINET offering cybersecurity training to 50 girls  aged between 14 and17 years from Kagiso Senior Secondary School, Kelemogile, Baitlotli and  Ramotswa Junior Secondary Schools.

The wholesale telecommunications service provider  augmented its contribution to the commemorations by sponsoring a spelling bee competition, where 28 girls from 15 schools in the district battled it out, demonstrating their knowledge and  understanding of ICT.

"It was inspiring to witness the passion, intelligence and determination showcased by these  young girls. BoFiNet believes in nurturing the next generation of ICT leaders and this competition  was a testament to the incredible potential talent within its communities," said BOFINET in a statement.
