We Did Not Reject Starlink's Application, Claims BOCRA

The Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) has denied media reports that it has rejected Starlink. Last week, reports stated that the regulator had rejected Starlink's initial application citing incomplete information which Starlink had yet to address.

"Contrary to media statements, BOCRA has not rejected any satellite licence application. The engagement process is currently ongoing in line with the provisions of the BOCRA Act," the regulator said in a statement.

According to BOCRA, it received the application in May 2023 and is currently vetting it. Furthermore, it stated that it will not engage on matters concerning the application until a decision is reached.
