Botswana Stock Exchange CEO Resigns

The Botswana Stock Exchange has announced that CEO Thapelo Tsheole has resigned as the head of the bourse. According to a statement by the BSE, Tsheole resigned on the 1st of March and will serve out his three months' notice.

Appointed as CEO in January 2016, Tsheole will be exiting to explore an opportunity outside of Botswana. "The Board and Staff of the BSE would like to thank Mr Tsheole for his achievements and committed leadership at the helm of the BSE, and being instrumental in the development of the financial sector in Botswana," BSE said in a statement.

Some of Tsheole's achievements include leading BSE into admission as a full member of the World Federation of Exchanges, a record-breaking day of trading in the BSE after Access Bank acquired BancABC, as well as the introduction of new technology systems to the exchange.
