Letshego Shareholders Reject Directors Botlhale & Hoekman

At the company's Annual General Meeting held on 20 June, shareholders of Botswana-based pan-African financier Letshego majority voted against the reinstatement of  Ronald Hoekman and Emmanuel Botlhale to the company's board of directors.

Hoekman and Botlhale, both independent non-executive directors, had offered themselves for re-election, along with other directors, including Catherine Lesetedi, Rose Mwaura, and Christopher Mokgware.

While Lesetedi, Mwaura, and Mokgware passed the shareholder vote with 94.79%, 95.14%, and 97.66%, respectively, Hoekman and Botlhale received only 48.61% and 16.86% of the favourable votes, respectively.

Hoekman was appointed to the Letshego board in February 2020, while Botlhale was appointed in June 2022.

85 shareholders were represented in person or by proxy, who held in total 1,749,106,539 ordinary shares, which represented 80.42% of the securities of the company.
