Access Bank Botswana Appoints Mahomed Sajid Osman As Independent Non-Executive Director

Access Bank Botswana has appointed Mahomed Sajid Osman as an independent non-executive director, effective March 2, 2026, to strengthen its board with additional finance and transaction advisory expertise.

The bank said Osman brings more than 13 years’ experience across two Big Four accounting firms, KPMG and Ernst & Young, where he worked in both the United Kingdom and Botswana. During that period, he developed expertise in financial reporting, audit, advisory, transaction structuring and strategic finance, according to a statement released by the bank.

Osman is currently Group Finance Director at Sefalana, where he oversees the group’s financial strategy, governance and reporting. His background includes involvement in mergers and acquisitions, value-enhancing transactions and stakeholder engagement initiatives, experience likely to support board oversight as the bank operates in an increasingly competitive and regulated financial services environment.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Accounting and Finance from the University of Birmingham and an Executive MBA in International Management jointly awarded by University of Edinburgh and École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées. He has also completed executive programmes at Harvard Business School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Osman is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants.

In a statement, the board welcomed Osman and said it looked forward to his contribution to the bank’s future growth and governance oversight.
