Lesego Osman Joins First Capital Bank Botswana As CEO

Lesego Osman is joining First Capital Bank as CEO effective from 6 March. He replaces Reinette Estelle van der Merwe, who joined Letshego Africa as CEO in October 2025.

Before joining First Capital Bank, Osman served as head of business and commercial banking at Stanbic Bank Botswana for almost three years. Previously, he was head of global markets and custody at Rand Merchant Bank.

In its latest financial results, Stanbic Bank Botswana's Business & Commercial Banking division recorded a profit after tax of P48 million.

Osman also served as head of global markets at Stanbic Bank Botswana between 2016 and 2020, head of global markets at Stanbic Bank Malawi between 2014-2016, and foreign exchange dealer at Standard Chartered Botswana early in his career.

He has also served as chairman of the Mascom Pension Fund and trustee of Mokolodi Wildlife Trust.

"Lesego brings extensive experience across corporate and commercial banking, treasury and capital markets. His leadership and market insight will support the Bank as we continue executing our growth strategy and strengthening client partnerships," First Capital Bank said in a statement.
