BIHL Group CEO Catherine Lesetedi Sold P8.5 Million in Shares in Last 16 Months

Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited (BIHL) chief executive and executive director Catherine Lesetedi has sold shares worth P8.46 million across three disclosed transactions since June 2025.

The latest transaction saw Lesetedi sell 126,300 ordinary shares at P23.76 each on 13 October 2026, generating P3 million, according to a company disclosure.

The sale follows two earlier transactions. On 10 June 2025, Lesetedi sold 150,000 shares at P23.01 each for P3.45 million. She later sold another 87,000 shares at P23.02 each on 7 November 2025, for P2 million.

Combined, the three transactions total P8.46 million and involve 363,300 shares sold at the disclosed prices.

Lesetedi’s sales account for more than three-quarters of the total value of the six disclosed transactions involving BIHL personnel. The figures represent transaction values, not profits, because the disclosures do not provide the prices at which the shares were originally acquired.

Other BIHL Group personnel also disclosed share sales during the period. Neo Bogatsu (CEO, Botswana Insurance Fund Management Limited) sold 64,182 shares on 9 June 2026 at P23.75 each, for P1.52 million.

Thomas Masifhi (Corporate Distribution & Stakeholder Management, BIHL) sold 12,247 shares at P23.01 each on 26 June for P281,803.47, followed by another 40,075 shares at the same price on 27 June, valued at P922,125.75. The two transactions totalled approximately P1.20 million.

Neo Ndwapi (Group Executive Head of Human Capital & Culture, BIHL) sold 40,114 shares at the same price on 11 June 2026, generating P952,707.50. Kagiso Mokgothu (Head of Legal & Company Secretary, Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited) sold 4,088 shares on 19 June 2026 at P23.75 each, for P97,090.

All eight transactions were identified as on-market sales of ordinary shares. The disclosures do not state the reasons for the sales or establish whether the individuals intend to reduce their holdings permanently.

The P12.2 million combined value reflects the eight transactions in the supplied disclosures and should not be interpreted as a complete record of all share dealings by BIHL insiders during the period.
