FNBB Recorded Over 12 Million EWallet Transactions In 2023

According to First National Bank Botswana (FNBB)'s 2023 Integrated report, the bank reported 12.5 million ewallet transactions in its 2023 financial year, an increase from the 11 million transactions recorded in 2022.

Lat year, the bank added to its ewallet suite of products the "EWallet Pro" which enables businesses to disburse funds to employees, both banked and unbanked, in real-time.

FNBB also recorded an increase in the number of agents of CashPlus service which reached 1,099 from 2022's 649 with clients reaching 240,000. The number of transactions from the service also increased from 2.6 million in 2022 to 4.7 million in 2023, totalling P3.8 billion.  FNBB also recorded 24 million airtime purchases, 3.5 million electricity purchases. as well as 25,000 new customers who had never had a bank account before. Overall, the bank had 655,000 clients.
