G4S Botswana Managing Director Withdraws Resignation

In an interesting turn of events, Mothusi Molokomme, Managing Director of G4S Botswana, has withdrawn his resignation and will now continue with the company. Molokomme's resignation was effective from February 3rd 2025, after which he served a 3-month notice period until April 30th.

He was appointed Managing Director of G4S Botswana on March 1st 2021.

"The Board is confident that with current changes and appointments of new members to the Board and the continuation of its Managing Director, that the Group is set to achieve its strategic intent of returning to profitability within the short to medium term," G4S Botswana said.

In its latest financial results, G4S Botswana recorded a loss before tax of P14.4 million for the year ended 31 December 2024, a bump from the P12.3 million loss from the previous year. However, revenue and gross profit saw an increase of 7% and 9% respectively, on the back of price increases, and acquisition of new customers, particularly in the mining and retail space and improved contract retention.

In other boardroom moves at G4S Botswana, Colleen Motswaiso and Lourens Abraham Smit resigned from the Board as independent non-executive directors. Conversely, Mompati Kgaimena and Michael Grobbelaar will be joining the board.
