The Botswana Digital & Innovation Hub (BDIH) has unveiled a newly appointed Board of Directors comprising a dynamic mix of technology, law, human resources, strategy, and economics experts.
The new board chair is Ikanyeng Molemele, a seasoned ICT consultant with global experience, who has been appointed as Board Chairperson. Molemele brings a robust track record in IT governance, enterprise service management, and digital transformation projects across the UK, Europe, and Southern Africa. Her leadership credentials include work with major institutions such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Vodafone, Huawei, and the London 2012 Olympics.
Joining her on the board is Lucky Matseka, a strategic planning expert and Balanced Scorecard Master Professional, currently serving as Strategy Manager at the Companies and Intellectual Property Authority. Economist and academic Dr Lesego Sekwati, who has held several leadership roles at the University of Botswana and within continental research bodies, also brings vital research and policy insight to the boardroom.
Bontle Eleng Mugabe, a partner at Desai Law Group and a respected advisor on corporate governance, capital markets, and infrastructure transactions, covers the legal portfolio. Evelyn Disele, a veteran human resources professional with experience in both the parastatal and private sectors, joins the board following her recent tenure as HR Director at Water Utilities Corporation.
Rounding out the appointments are Angel Setumo, a digital transformation leader currently heading innovation at Letshego Africa, and Ogone Mothooagae, founder of Stencil Technologies and former executive at Accenture and Adapt IT, who brings high-level expertise in software engineering and pan-African technology operations.
In a statement, BDIH said the new board’s diverse expertise is critical to guiding the organisation's strategic direction. “This collective leadership will play a pivotal role in driving Botswana’s innovation ecosystem forward and realising our ambition of a technology-driven, knowledge-based economy,” the organisation noted.
