At the telco's Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held on the 23rd of September, BTC will seek shareholder approval to introduce an annual retainer fee for board members.
The board chair's fee is P100,000, while for other directors, it will be P80,000.
In addition to the retainer fees, the board members will receive their regular sitting allowance: P19,000, P15,000, and P13,000 for the board chair, subcommittee chair, and board member, respectively. The retainers' fees will be paid quarterly in advance.
In the previous financial year, BTC paid its directors the following:
-Mokgethi Magapa (Chair): P431,500
-Anthony Masunga (Managing Director): P5.3 million
-Boitumelo Paya (Acting CEO): P2.7 million
-Andrew Reginald Johnson: P125,000
-Ranjith Priyalal De Silva: P271,500
-Bafana Molomo: P325,500
- Thato Kewakae: P423,500
-Amantle Kgosiemang: P273,000
-Mcedisi Solomon: P286,000
-Itemogeng Pheto: P279,500
In the same financial year, BTC's profit before tax also jumped by 30% to P259 million while revenue grew by 4% to P1.49 billion.
