Absa Bank Botswana expects its profit before tax for the six months ended 30 June 2026 to increase by between 10% and 20% compared with the same period last year, signalling continued improvement in the bank’s financial performance.
In a notice issued to shareholders on 24 August 2026, the bank said profit before tax is expected to be between approximately P453 million and P494 million, representing an increase of about P41 million to P82 million from the P412 million reported for the six months ended 30 June 2025.
The expected improvement means Absa Botswana is forecasting double-digit growth in pre-tax profit for the half-year, although the bank has not yet disclosed the specific factors behind the increase. The full financial breakdown will only be provided when the bank publishes its interim results.
Absa Botswana said its consolidated results for the period are expected to be higher than those reported in the corresponding period of 2025.
The bank is scheduled to release its half-year financial results on Thursday, 17 September 2026.
