Access Bank Botswana has announced the resignation of non-executive director Robert Michael Yorwerth Giles, marking the departure of the bank's group-nominated representative following his exit from Access Bank PLC.
The resignation took effect on 7 July 2026, according to a notice issued by the bank in compliance with the Botswana Stock Exchange Listing Requirements.
Giles joined the Access Bank Botswana board on 5 November 2021 as a group-nominated non-executive director. The bank said that because he has left Access Bank PLC, his role as the group's representative on the Botswana board has consequently come to an end.
During his nearly five-year tenure, Giles served on two key board committees: the Board Credit and Finance Committee, and the Board Risk Management and Compliance Committee. The bank credited him with contributing to its development, strategic direction and governance during his time on the board.
In a statement issued on behalf of the board, Access Bank Botswana thanked Giles for his service and wished him success in his future endeavours.
The announcement did not name a replacement or indicate when a new group-nominated director would be appointed.
