Stanbic Bank Botswana Expects Up To 20% Rise In Half-Year Profit

Stanbic Bank Botswana is expecting a strong improvement in its half-year profitability, with profit before tax for the six months ended 30 June 2026 projected to increase by between 10% and 20%.

In a cautionary announcement issued on 3 September, the bank said the anticipated increase translates to between P41 million and P83 million compared to the corresponding period in 2025.

Stanbic Bank Botswana reported profit before tax of P413 million for the half year ended 30 June 2025. Based on its latest guidance, the bank's pre-tax profit for the first half of 2026 could therefore reach between approximately P454 million and P496 million.

The announcement was issued in accordance with the Botswana Stock Exchange's Debt and Specialist Listing Requirements, which require issuers to disclose potentially price-sensitive information as soon as possible.

Stanbic said full details of its performance will be provided in its abridged reviewed consolidated financial statements for the half year ended 30 June 2026, which are expected to be published by 30 September 2026.
