BBS Bank Joins SWIFT

BBS Bank has announced that it has joined the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications (SWIFT). This means that the bank will now be able to facilitate electronic transactions with other banks, domestically and cross-border through clearing and settlement.

For the bank's customers, this means that they will be able to make payments into or from their BBS Bank accounts can be made from anywhere in the world. "BBS Bank is pleased with this latest development because of the speed with which it will assist customers with their transactions and the generation of confidence in its growing abilities as a commercial bank," the bank said in a statement.

In October 2022, Bank of Botswana formally granted the company the license to operate as a commercial bank in Botswana.
