BBS Bank non-executive director and former Auditor General Pulane Letebele has resigned from the lender's board after serving for nearly two years.
The bank said Letebele stepped down at its annual general meeting, citing a decision to pursue other interests. She joined the board in October 2024, with the board expressing its gratitude for her contribution during her tenure.
Her departure forms part of a broader reshuffle of the bank's board announced following the annual general meeting.
The bank also confirmed the retirement by rotation of non-executive director Sejo Lenong, who concluded her three-year tenure on the board after joining in June 2023. BBS Bank thanked Lenong for her service, describing her as a valuable member of the board.
Meanwhile, Geoffrey Bakwena was re-elected as a non-executive director for a further three-year term after retiring by rotation. Bakwena, who first joined the board in July 2020, will continue serving as part of the bank's strategy to retain institutional knowledge and ensure continuity through staggered board rotations. The bank described him as an experienced governance professional with expertise spanning board leadership, capital markets, project management, financial services and government relations.
The board changes were announced in a notice to shareholders following the bank's annual general meeting.
